Connecting with potters
Whether you are a buyer, or a creator, The Pittsburgh Potters Tour is a great way forge connections. Gallery crawls, art walks, open houses and open studios, are popular ways to generate exposure to the arts and to artists. Seeing pottery demonstrations can help smart collectors to understand the process behind the finished artwork, and fine emerging talents and affordable prices. Budding Potters
If you are outgrowing your experience as a “student in a classroom” and want to team up with other potters to share studio space, while also increasing your production and clarifying your artistic voice, then we may be able to connect you with like-minded artists looking for the same. Or maybe you would like to attend pottery workshops in Pittsburgh, learn the ins-and-outs of doing local art festivals, or possibly enter an exhibition. Other workshop topics might be the about the “business” end of making pottery. That includes relentless marketing, social media, accounting and self promotion. And of course there is the technical side of being an artist and potter. Throwing, casting, mold making, and glaze formulation are just some of the skills potters may want to acquire. Clay Pittsburgh is here to help you get where you want to go.
