My studio has grown into an atelier where several former students now create porcelain work in their own distinctive styles. Though our work is diverse, we share a love of clay, a spirit of collaboration, and lasting friendships. As one artist says, “This is my happy place.”

After more than 50 years working with clay, my own practice continues to evolve. Now 86, I am fascinated by porcelain’s ability to surprise me. I explore its limits, embracing the unpredictable effects of the kiln, the beauty of translucence, and forms that capture a sense of movement while always searching for the perfect “sweet” line.
