Co-Operative Studio Space

This would be a member owned and operated studio facility, with shared workspace and/or cubicles, wheels, kilns, shelving, sinks, etc., and agreed upon  terms, conditions, and fees set by the members. The terms  would establish the use of the space and the financial responsibility of the members. The co-op would typically rent a commercial or industrial space.

At present there is no such co-op in Pittsburgh, however, as Fireborn Studios reduces or eliminates classes there are lots of former students who are prime candidates for setting up a co-op. At this moment  (March-April of 2025) Fireborn is attempting to facilitating the formation of such a co-op. Fireborn would like to see Clay Pittsburgh become an active supporter and facilitator of this effort endeavor.

  4. I am a beginner hand builder with studio space, kiln and slab roller, etc.
I am looking for two more hand builders to share my studio. Sorry, but I do not want to add wheel throwing to my studio.

At present I have invited a few other fellow beginners to join me. I still have space for one or 2 more. I am hoping to add another hand builder with more experience to join our group to share their knowledge.

I have large work room and a separate kiln building.

I would want to meet with this person or persons to determine if they would be a good fit for our group. Do you know anyone who might be interested?
Their cost would just be the cost of their share of materials (unless they bring their own) and a small firing fee just to cover my costs. Not trying to make money, just knowledges and hopefully friends.

I am located in Churchill, 1 mile from Monroeville, on the side closest to Pittsburgh.
