Open Studio
Co-Operative Studio Space
This would be a member owned and operated studio facility, with shared workspace and/or cubicles, wheels, kilns, shelving, sinks, etc., and agreed upon terms, conditions, and fees set by the members. The terms would establish the use of the space and the financial responsibility of the members. The co-op would typically rent a commercial or industrial space.
At present there is no such co-op in Pittsburgh, however, as Fireborn Studios reduces or eliminates classes there are lots of former students who are prime candidates for setting up a co-op. At this moment (March-April of 2025) Fireborn is attempting to facilitate the formation of such a co-op. Fireborn would like to see Clay Pittsburgh become an active supporter and facilitator of this effort endeavor.
