Fireborn Studios and Gallery

A 5000 sq ft working studio and gallery on the South Side. Daniel Vito and Donna Hetrick make functional and sculptural porcelain fired in gas reduction and wood kilns. Work is available in their Side Gallery, plus rotating work from invited Pittsburgh potters.

Maya Chen

I've been throwing pots in my basement studio for about two years and I'm still learning. I make mugs, bowls, and small planters in stoneware. You can find my work at the Squirrel Hill Farmers Market on Sundays.

Jordan Kowalski

I'm a junior at CAPA High School and I've been taking ceramics for three years. I make hand-built sculptural pieces and some functional ware. My work was shown in our school's spring exhibition.

Three Rivers Clay Co.

A 12-member cooperative studio with open studio hours and kiln access in the Strip District. Members work in stoneware, porcelain, and earthenware across a range of firing methods. Membership inquiries welcome.

North Side Kilns

Small-batch wood and soda-fired pottery made in a private studio on the North Shore. Work includes functional ware and one-of-a-kind pieces. Open studio events twice yearly — follow on Instagram for dates.

Braddock Clay Works

Slip-cast and hand-built decorative work using local red clay. Studio is in Braddock. Pieces are shown at regional exhibitions and available by commission. DM on Instagram to inquire.

Hollow Vessel Studio

A teaching studio in Shadyside offering wheel-throwing and hand-building classes for all levels, including complete beginners. Year-round schedule with small class sizes and open studio access for enrolled students.

Pat Okafor Ceramics

I started making pottery seriously about a year ago after taking a class at a local studio. I work out of a shared studio in Lawrenceville making functional porcelain — mostly mugs and small vessels. Work available through my Etsy shop.
