#2 Larkspur Pottery

#4 Sip and Spin Studio

Betsy and Adelee are former students of Fireborn Studios that have just finished setting up their own home studio to continue with their creative adventures. They love to sip drinks and have snacks while throwing pottery and enjoy making colorful pieces and use underglaze and underglaze transfers while working with porcelain clay.

#5 Fireborn Studios

Hosts: Dan Vito and Donna Hetrick - For forty years we have been making and selling functional pottery. All our work is one of a kind and hand made. We use a variety of clays. Our glazes are sprayed and layered, and we do high fire reduction using gas and wood burning kilns.

#6 Katy Lynn Pottery

Host: Katy Lynn Ostronic — My process involves shaping angular porcelain vessels on the wheel, cutting out three small triangles, then smoothing it all back together, but leaving behind visible lines so the user can see where it has changed. My forms are dressed in my own compositions of the daily sights I found myself in awe of at every turn throughout my travels.

#7 Bryce Hemington Ceramics

Host: Bryce Hemington - My work focuses on wood fired porcelain utilitarian ware, featuring inlaid patterns that frequently focus on repetition and red shapes.

#8 Eva Conrad Hand built Ceramics

Host: Eva Conrad — My work emerges in the world as a reflection on moments of attentive introspection, amid seemingly rigid binary systems. I weave patterns, which function on binary oppositions, in and out of my ceramic sculptures and paintings, repetitively, as meditation on the systems of belief we carry unconsciously.

#9 LGG Creative Art Pottery

Host: Leslie Green Guilbault — I'm a full-time ceramic artist and a certified Roycroft Artisan, specializing in wheelthrown porcelain art pottery. I employ many techniques in my work, including freehand carving, scraffito, highly detailed painting, fused glass, and an array of metallic glazes.

#10 Little House, Big Art

Host: Elizabeth Bashur — We are a small teaching studio that strives to make clay accessible. We work to remove barriers in the love between people and pottery. We offer wheel use, classes in hand building and wheel throwing, and open studio sculpting time/tools.

#11 B. Cramer Clay

Host: Billy Cramer — I make small batch pottery from my home studio in Pittsburgh, thrown on a potter’s wheel that I inherited from my parents. Functional pottery is my passion, and most pieces are intended to be used daily.

#12 Penn Avenue Pottery

Host: Bill Foglia - Penn Ave Pottery opened in 1979, with the studio in the back and the store in the front. Currently there are two members: Bill Foglia and Tracey Seder. We primarily make one of a kind functional work, but also do some purely sculptural pieces in high fire reduction and mid range oxidation.

#13 Huffman Studios

Host: Dale and Betsy Huffman -After earning a BS in Physics from Carnegie-Mellon and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Dale and Betsy spent two decades as full-time artists before Dale was asked to join the faculty at Carlow University. Dale has been included in wide-ranging national and international exhibitions as well as books and leading periodicals from England, Germany, Ireland, Australia and the US. His work has taken him to Japan, Denmark, Spain, Sweden, and Taiwan. Dale is now Professor Emeritus at Carlow and enjoying the time to explore paths not taken.

#15 Reiko Yamamoto Studio

Reiko Yamamoto makes modern, versatile and functional pottery for everyday use. Each and every piece is designed, made and fired in her studio in Pittsburgh, PA. Having grown up in Japan, Reiko ate meals everyday using handmade pottery. In her family (and true in most Japanese homes), there was no concept of a complete dinnerware set and instead, the table was a vivid array of dishes of various sizes, colors, shapes and patterns. This contributed for her love of mix and match sensibility as well as her appreciation for well designed functional objects. Reiko hopes that her work gets handled daily and meal and conversations are shared in its presence. She is dedicated to creating quality work that celebrates the handmade and continues the long tradition of ceramics.

#16 Nancy Smith Studio / Denniston Street Potters
